Grammar
We will review the following skills:
- adding -ed and -ing endings (when to double the consonant, drop the e, and add the ending)
- r controlled vowels ar, er, ir, ur, or
- words ending in y and ey
Reading
This week we will be reading Yeh Shen and The Korean Cinderella. Our class has been working hard to find how stories are alike and different. We are paying a great deal of attention to key details!
Math
This week in math we will focus on. . .
- 3-D Shapes (counting faces and vertices)
- Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares.
- describe the shares using the words halves, fourths and quarters.
Science
We will have an in school field trip tomorrow that will end our unit on light and sound. We will begin our last science unit on sky patterns. Students will begin learning about the sun.
Leader in Me
Students will continue to focus on identifying our plus/deltas each day. We will brainstorm ideas for a school wide Leader in Me theme for next school year.
Our field trip to the Lincolnshire Marriott Theatre is scheduled for Thursday morning.
